I love the 2000s so much! I mentioned in a previous post that I like collecting things, and vintage clothes are at the top of the list of things I love to collect. Honestly, I think my life would be better had I been born earlier. There would definitely be some downsides (racism, the economy, ED culture, my mother) but it's nothing that's not already being done and dealt with is these times.

Dark stuff aside (because this is meant to be a lighthearted blog), I think that I definitely would've fit in better in the 2000s. I know every young person now seems to think that, but I genuinely believe it. I wouldn't have been made fun of for being skinny, I would have a surplus of quality clothes (because let's be honest, clothes SUCK now), and I would be witnessing some of the most iconic moments of pop culture and society live. Seems so much better than the life I'm forced to have now. Bet my blog would've looked cuter on MySpace too.

You'll see pretty often on this blog that I'll log new vintage clothing scores, makeup looks, and older music that I discovered. Any Y2Kheads with an unhealthy obsession with the 2000s are welcome here! Live life like it's 2008, you'll be happier!

Blacker Days

What's up!  It's been a few days since I last updated my blog. It can get a bit difficult to keep up with things like this in your day to day life, but I'm going to keep trying my best! Speaking of trying, sometimes it gets really dark on some days, and I struggle to keep my head up. Do you guys ever have those kind of days? Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one; when I speak with friends and family, they don't seem to grasp how hard it is to maintain an unhappy brain. But what do you expect with depression? I want to feel the light of life, but on blacker days, I feel lost.   I really wanted to keep this blog as optimistic and uplifting as possible, but I have to be honest. It is so draining to keep all the thoughts to myself. Sometimes the biggest smiles are the saddest ones.   But enough talk of my mental decline. Slow Mornings

 Morning! I think one of my favorite things about day to day life are the slow mornings. I stay up until ungodly hours of the night (and morning), and wake up at whatever time I wish. Somehow, despite sleeping at 3-4am nightly, I manage to wake up around 7-8am. I'm totally sleep deprived, but I don't mind at all. It's what makes these mornings so comfy; the burn behind your tired eyes, the feeling of the body waking up-- it's a feeling that I enjoy most on days off. On this particular slow morning, I had iced coffee that I made the night previous. The overnight chill it developed was pretty good. I made six pancakes instead of the classic three, because why not? It's my morning, and I can take it how I want. Buttered those up and washed it down. Absolutely satisfying breakfast. One of the best parts of slow mornings is definitely returning to bed.
